Fake Polls and Electoral Fraud: Is Canada Following the Authoritarian Playbook?

In recent weeks, a troubling pattern has emerged in Canada’s political landscape: a series of polls, allegedly conducted by liberal-inclined pollsters, showing the Liberal Party of Canada leading in key ridings ahead of the next federal election. While polling is a cornerstone of democratic discourse, the timing, consistency, and selective nature of these polls raise serious questions about their legitimacy. What’s even more alarming is how this tactic mirrors strategies employed by authoritarian regimes to manipulate public perception and justify fraudulent electoral outcomes.

In authoritarian countries, fake polls are a well-documented tool used to create the illusion of popular support for the ruling party. These regimes often release manipulated polling data to convince citizens that their leader’s inevitable victory is legitimate, even as electoral fraud is being committed behind the scenes. The polls serve as a smokescreen, normalizing the idea of a landslide win and discouraging dissent or scrutiny. It’s a cynical ploy to gaslight the public into accepting a rigged system.

Now, it seems, this playbook is being imported into Canada. The Liberal-NDP coalition, mired in scandals and accusations of corruption, appears to be resorting to increasingly desperate measures to retain power. From the multi-billion-dollar WE Charity scandal to the mismanagement of taxpayer funds during the pandemic, this government has shown a blatant disregard for accountability. Now, with their popularity waning, they seem to be turning to underhanded tactics to cling to power.

The recent polls, which show the Liberals leading in specific ridings, are suspiciously convenient. They are being released at a time when the government is facing intense scrutiny over its handling of the economy, inflation, and ethical breaches. The selective nature of these polls—focusing on certain regions while ignoring others—suggests an attempt to shape the narrative rather than reflect reality. This is not how legitimate polling works.

What’s even more concerning is the potential for these fake polls to be used as a precursor to electoral fraud. In authoritarian regimes, fake polls are often followed by rigged elections, where ballot stuffing, voter suppression, and other forms of fraud ensure the ruling party’s victory. The polls are then trotted out as “proof” that the results were legitimate, even as evidence of fraud mounts. Could Canada be heading down a similar path?

The Liberal-NDP coalition has already shown a willingness to bend the rules to stay in power. From invoking the Emergencies Act to silence dissent to ramming through legislation without proper debate, this government has demonstrated a troubling disregard for democratic norms. The use of fake polls would be just another step in their efforts to manipulate the system and deceive the Canadian public.

This is not just a partisan issue; it’s a threat to the very foundation of our democracy. Canadians deserve free and fair elections, not a rigged system designed to keep a corrupt government in power. We must demand transparency and accountability from our leaders and reject any attempt to manipulate public opinion through fake polls or electoral fraud.

The fact that such tactics are being employed in Canada is shocking, but perhaps not surprising given the Liberal-NDP coalition’s track record. They have already stolen billions from Canadian taxpayers; now, it seems, they are willing to steal an election. Canadians must remain vigilant and refuse to be fooled by these authoritarian tactics. Our democracy depends on it.

In the coming months, as more polls are released and the election draws nearer, we must question their legitimacy and demand evidence to back up their claims. We cannot allow Canada to become a country where fake polls and electoral fraud are used to justify the unjustifiable. The stakes are too high, and the cost to our democracy is too great.

The time to act is now—before it’s too late.
